According to the Illinois Real Estate License Act:

bulletto obtain a real estate Broker license, an individual is required to:

- complete a State approved 75 hour Broker Pre-License Topics  course and the 15 hour Broker Pre-License Applied Real Estate Principles course (available from Information Professionals, Inc.)

AND

- be at least 21 years of age and have a high school degree or a GED (no college is required)

OR

- be at least 18-20 years of age and have 2 years of college  and complete the State approved 75 hour Broker Pre-License Topics course and the 15 hour Broker Pre-License Applied Real Estate Principles course (available from Information Professionals, Inc.)

 

bulletto obtain a real estate Broker Manager license, an individual is required to:

- complete  the State approved 30 hour Managing Broker Pre-License Topics and the 15 hour Managing Broker Pre-License Applied Management and Supervision course (available from Information Professionals, Inc.)

OR

- be a currently licensed attorney registered to practice law before the Illinois Supreme Court

 

Continuing Education Requirements

For Broker renewal April 30, 2012 - special renewal because of the extended license period. . 
Brokers must complete 18 hours of Approved Continuing Education classes.

Other renewal years
Broker must complete 12 hours of Approved Continuing Education classes.

For Broker Manager renewal April 30, 2013
Individuals holding a valid real estate Broker Manager license are required to complete 18 hours of State Approved continuing education  and the 12 hour Broker Management course. 

Other renewal years
BrokerManager's must complete 12 hours of Approved Continuing Education classes.

Brokers must renew their license by April 30th of the even numbered years, and Broker Managers renew their license by April 30th of the odd numbered years.

Attorneys are exempt from continuing ed. 

 

The CE hours must be taken in the 2 years preceding each renewal period. No carry-over is allowed of extra hours from previous periods.
