Loan Originator Registration Procedures

1.  Pass the loan originator exam 

2.  Complete the civil background check

3.  Complete the criminal background check  

4.  Complete Form LO (loan originator application) and pay appropriate fees

Loan Originator Registration Fees

Current fees are as follows

1.    AMP Loan Originator Examination - $74

2.    Civil background check  - $115

3.    Criminal background check with fingerprinting - varies depending on the company

4.    State application for your registration (Form LO) - $125 initial registration fee

Points of Interest 

You may take the state loan origination exam as many times as you need to pass the exam ($74 each time)

You cannot originate, solicit or place loans until loans until you have completed the entire registration process.
